Whatever your interests may be, this beautiful area of France has plenty for everybody.

Let yourself be charmed by the internationally famous attractions of the Chateaux and Vineyards of the Loire which are on our doorstep, with local towns all having their own colourful weekly markets and individual, interesting features.

The major local places of interest include:

Nantes -(45mins drive) - capital of the Pays de la Loire.
A dynamic port on one of the loveliest rivers in France, the Erdre, brimming with gardens and parks, chateaux and manor houses, fine shops and restaurants.

Angers - (40mins drive) - capital of Anjou and gateway to the Loire Valley, a region recently designated as a World Heritage Site. Angers has all the best aspects of French culture, charming chateaux and famous wines. There are many vineyards open to visitors in the area and Cointreau liqueur has been made in Angers since 1849.

Rennes - (1 hr drive) - capital of Brittany. This modern city is built around an historic core and boasts smart shops, fine restaurants, museums etc.

Saumur -(1 hr 15mins drive) -  home of the acclaimed National Riding School and the famous "Cadre Noir".
Saumur boasts no fewer than 54 national monuments and is also famous for its sparkling wine. Mushroom caves hidden in the banks of the Loire make an interesting stop for lunch!

La Baule - (1hr 15mins) - 9km of wonderful, long sandy beaches, seafood restaurants - where mussels and oysters are a must.
The medieval town of Guerande close by is well worth a visit.

Le Mans - (1 hr 30mins drive) - famous for its 24 hr motor race and museum. There are also numerous other car museums in the area for motoring enthusiasts .

Futurscope theme park in Poitiers.

Various zoos, safari parks, fun parks and the Atlantic coast are all close to hand and for the more adventurous, nearby lakes with their safe man-made beaches provide water-sports, swimming and fishing. 
Fishing permits can be obtained on a daily basis or fortnightly, in season.

Chateaubriant and Angers have their own racecourses, whilst horse riding, cycling and walking are ideally suited to the quiet country lanes that surround us. Open fields, lakes and forests also provide great opportunities for ornithology.
